CENRO Urdaneta inks partnership for “Adopt-a-tree”

VILLASIS — The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Urdaneta City recently entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the local government unit (LGU) of Villasis, Villasis Water District (VWD) and United Architect of the Philippines (UAP) – Pangasinan SCALE for the “Adopt-A-Tree” project  along the stretch of by-pass road in Barangay Barraca, Villasis town for its sustainable development and management.

After the MOA signing, a tree planting activity in the by-pass road area was held where a total of 500 ilang-ilang seedlings and 10 umbrella tree (talisay) seedlings were planted by 29 participants from the agencies.

The CENRO committed to provide the planting materials/seedlings to be planted in the project area and to monitor activities and provide continuous technical assistance for the development, effective maintenance and protection of the plantation.

For their part, LGU Villasis, VWD and UAP pledged to ensure the continuous development, maintenance and protection of the planting area and to submit reports to the CENRO on all activities undertaken in the site. (PhilStar Wire Service)
