3rd Pangasinan Inter-Town/City cagefest is on

LINGAYEN – After two consecutive years of successful of staging, “Governor’s Cup Inter-Town/City Basketball Tournament” the biggest basketball tourney in the province, opened its third season on December 8.

A major sports program of Governor Amado I. Espino, III, the tournament pits participating town and city with their 4 best-selected cagers, ages 18-26 years old.

The participating 25 towns and cities are divided in three conferences: Western Conference (Agular, Alaminos City, Anda, Bugallon, Labrador, Lingayen, Mangatarem and Sual); Central Conference (Bayambang, Binmaley, Calasiao, Malasiqui, Manaoag, Mangaldan, San Carlos City and Sta. Barbara); and Eastern Conference (Alcala, Asingan, Bautista, San Nicolas, Sto. Tomas, Tayug, Umingan, Urdaneta City and Villasis).

PSDMC Executive Officer Modesto M. Operania said the basketball tourney aims to build stronger relationship among the youth in the province through youth and sports development in the province.

The provincial government’s support to sports development established the Pangasinan Sports Academy (PSA) this year to train athletes for national and international sports competitions.
