A FIVE-day sports science seminar for coaches and trainers of public and private schools in Dagupan City in five sports disciplines will be held November 26 to 30.
The activity, sponsored by the Dagupan City Sports Commission (DCSC) in partnership with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), will be held in different venues.
According to City Schools Division Supervisor Dr. Lorna Bugayong, the opening of the five-day seminar will be on November 26 at CSI Stadia. From there, the participants numbering 50 from each of the events or 250 will be fanned to different training venues.
The seminar for coaches and trainers in athletics will be held at the Bonuan Boquig Elementary School grounds, arnis at Dagupan People’s Astrodome, boxing and dance sports at the Teen Center and gymnastics of Dagupan People’s Astrodome.
Dr. Bugayong said all winning coaches for the 2018 Division Meet will attend the seminar.
While registration is free, registration will be on a “first come, first served: basis.”
Participants will be entitled to service credit in accordance with DepEd Order 53, a compensatory Time Off (CTO) as per Civil Service Commission and Department of Budget and Management Joint Circular No. 2, series of 2004 on Non-Monitoring Remuneration for Overtime Service Rendered.
Bugayong said participants will have to provide for their own snacks and meals for the whole duration of the event.
The seminar is part of the efforts of DCSC to prepare Dagupan athletes in their first ever defense of its title as 2018 Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) meet champion. (Leonardo Micua)
