Car buyer facing estafa rap

By November 4, 2018News, Peace and Order

A COMPLAINT for possible estafa was lodged before the Dagupan City Police against a woman who issued six bouncing checks as her monthly installment payment for a chattel mortgage to a car.

The complaint was filed by Robert John Zaratan against one Khristine Joy Supelana who executed a Deed of Conditional Sale with the former over a 2016 Ford Ecosport 1.5L 5DR Trend that she bought from him.

As gleaned from the police blotter, Supelana is being accused for violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22 for issuing checks to Zaratan worth P18,017 each that bounced.

This was Supelana’s supposed payment to Zaratan for eight consecutive months of installment on the motor vehicle.

Zaratan already sent a demand letter to Ms. Supelana after being informed by the bank that those checks issued by her had no sufficient cash backing and classified as Drawn Against Insufficient Fund. (Camilla Fernandez, OJT)
