21 vie for Ms. Balon Dagupan 2019 title

THE 21 candidates vying for the coveted title of Ms. Balon Dagupan 2019 marked their first appearance with a presentation to the local media at the City Museum on November 18.

The pageant is one of the main highlights of the coming 2018 Dagupan City Fiesta this December.

This year s 21 pageant hopefuls are Shirley V. Sotelo of Barangay Mangin, Gieryll Alegoyojo of Barangay Lucao, Allysa Andrea Reyes of Barangay Lasip Chico, Desiree Almonte of Barangay Mamalingling, Janine Salazar of Barangay Lasip Grande, Mica Ella Luna of Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Maria Angelica Saplan of Barangay Pogo Grande, Kristel Ann Salazar of Barangay Bacayao Norte, Alexia Nevado of Barangay Malued, Jhenelle Ann Manaois of Barangay Pogo Chico, Ira Mae Villacorta of Barangay Bonuan Boquig, Quesa Thalia Lopez of Barangay Herrero-Perez, Shena Castro of Barangay II & III, Angelie Nicole Muega of Barangay Salapingao, Jhonalyn Caballero of Barangay Pugaro Suit, Jazel Romero of Barangay Bolosan, Aira Joy de Austria of Barangay Tambac, Cris-Ann delos Reyes of Barangay Caranglaan, and Irish Stephanie Caoile of Barangay Tapuac.

The candidates were picked by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councils in their respective barangays. The SK Federation headed by its president, Joshua Bugayong is the official host of this year’s pageant. The event is also headed by its Event Chair Councilor Luis “Chito” Samson Jr.

The ladies, representing their barangays, will be tested on their intelligence, personality, poise and beauty and will compete in  their swimsuits and long gowns.

Only six out of ten selected semi-finalists will be pitted in the Question and Answer portion to finally determine the candidate to succeed the reigning Ms. Balon Dagupan.

The Search for Ms. Balon Dagupan will be held during the SK Night on December 14.

This year’s fiesta will be headed by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez as City Fiesta Honorary Chair, City Fiesta Hermano Mayor Councilor Jeslito “Jigs” Seen and Vice Chairman Councilor Joey Netu Tamayo. (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
