OFW family in Mapandan is region’s model family awardee
A FAMILY in Mapandan was chosen one of two Model OFW Family of the Year awardees in Region 1’s search by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office I (OWWA RWOI).
The family of Mrs. Virginia Fernandez – Vega from Mapandan was selected for the land-based category. The other family awardee was the family of Master Mariner Domingo C. Cuanang, Jr. of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte for the sea-based category.
The awarding ceremony was held on October 2, 2018 in San Fernando City, La Union.
The two will represent Region I in the national search to be held in December. Fernandez’s family was the lone nominee from Pangasinan.
Selection was on the wholesomeness and solidarity of the family, excellence in education and profession, business and financial management and civic and community involvement. (OWWA RW01)
