POLITICIANS in Pangasinan, particularly in the 4th district, can relax as controversial ex-Presidential Operations Office Assistant Secretary Esther Margaux ‘Mocha” Uson, who vowed to run for Congress, is not a registered voter in Pangasinan or in Dagupan where she was born.

The Comelec in Pangasinan has verified that her name appears in the list of registered voters in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

In confirming her registration in Manila, Provincial Elections Supervisor Marino Salas said the name of Mocha is not in the list of registered voters in Pangasinan.

There were 138,897 new voters that registered in Pangasinan for inclusion in the final list that will go through a hearing of the election registration board in every municipality and city of the province starting Oct. 25.

A source told The PUNCH that if Uson is not filing her CoC for senator, she will likely file as a candidate of a party-list.

Uson is the daughter of the late Regional Trial Court Judge Oscar ‘Gary Uson and Dr. Estrelita Justiniano Uson who once lived in Tapuac, Dagupan City.

The late RTC Judge Uson was ambushed and killed somewhere along the Narciso Ramos bridge in Asingan sometime in the 1990s while Dr. Uson was a top pediatrician at Region 1 Medical Center until she retired. (Leonardo Micua)
