LINGAYEN –The biggest basketball tourney in the province, “Governor’s Cup Inter-Town/City Basketball Tournament” is set to open its third season on November 24.
This was announced during a meeting of the Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) on October 9.
A pet project of Governor Amado Espino III, the tournament will pit the 14 best cagers ages 18-26 years old of each participating town and city in the province against each other.
PSDMC Executive Officer Modesto M. Operania also announced that the provincial government is open to the idea of joining the Makabansa Basketball League (MBL).
Expected to participate are 35 towns and cities in the province.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Regional Director Edilberto Abalos discussed the guidelines of the games during the meeting, as well as announcing a separate training for the coaches. (PIO/SMDG)
