THE Alaminos City government temporarily closed the Hundred Islands National Park to visitors over the weekend in anticipation of a calamitous situation that Typhoon Ompong can create.

Venus Balgua, city information officer, said the HINP will be closed until the typhoon exits from Northern Luzon.

At exactly 3 p.m. of September 13, all the tourists visiting the islands were sent back to the mainland in Lucap to ensure their safety.

Visitors were also denied the privilege to stay overnight in the islands.

Balgua said a task force was organized by the city government to monitor and guard the islands. (Nora Dominguez)
