LINGAYEN–An incumbent barangay kagawad of Bunlalacao, Mangatarem was the most notorious drug personality arrested by lawmen in their continuing drug clearing operations from August 25 to 29.

Barangay Kagawad Rene Escalante, 63, included in the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) narco list of barangay officials, was arrested by joint elements of the Mangatarem Police led by Deputy Chief of Police Gilbert Villamor, and PDEA led by Agent Francis Lomas-e when they served a search warrant at his residence at 4:30 a.m.

Seized from his house were one black pouch containing three heat-sealed sachets of shabu, three aluminum foil strips, and one Cal. 38 revolver with defaced marking loaded with three bullets.

He was among the 45 drug personalities arrested by the police from various towns and cities of Pangasinan in the continuing war on drugs.

Another top drug personality arrested was Dante Bernarte IV, a high-value target in Infanta town, who was arrested in a drug-buy-bust operation in Barangay Bamban where he resides.

Also arrested was a buy-bust operation on Galvan Street in Dagupan City was identified as Klyde Conde, 16 years old, a resident of Maasin, Mangaldan.

He sold one sachet of suspected shabu to a police agent who paid him P500 marked money. After the custodial investigation, Conde was referred to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), being a minor.

Another arrested in search warrant operation was Romulo Austria, 54, of Barangay Bocacliw, Aguilar, from whose house lawmen found one rifle grenade, one slug of unknown caliber, five bullets for Cal. 5.56 and a revolver replica. Incidental to the search, five plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves were found in his house.

Also served with search warrants for drugs were Fernando Sandaydiego, 69, of Barangay Cabatling, Malasiqui; Jeffrey Quinones, a drug pusher on the watchlist of Barangay Calvo, Mangatarem; Almar Vallo, 38, of Magsaysay, Bayambang from whose house lawmen seized ammunition for Cal, 7.62 rifle and Cal. 45; Mrs. Bernadyne Ludvig, 38, of Poblacion, Dasol; Ruby Baste, 36, of Barangay Pilar, Sta. Maria; Jojo Siobal, 37, of Lunec, Malasiqui; Evelyn Halog, 40, of Samon, Sta. Maria; Joel Ramos, of Barangay Ataynan, Alcala; Bill Cabunot, arrested by PNP Maritime  both for illegal possession of drugs and illegal possession of firearms in Hermosa, Dasol;

Those who fell in drug buy-bust operations were: Christmark Corres, 32, a painter, was caught in buy-bust operation on Arellano Bani, Dagupan City; Snokh Soriano, 25, a newly emerged drug personality arrested in Barangay Trenchera, Tayug; Aries Damasco, 31, arrested in Tagudin, Mabini; Jonathan Noces, 37, arrested at a waiting shed in Zone 1, Rosario, Pozorrubio;

Guillermo Revote Jr., a newly identified drug personality, 32, arrested in Nibaliw, Mangaldan; Alexander Velasco, 30, arrested in Guibel, San Jacinto Hilario Dalayoan,26, arrested in Reynado, Bayambang; Rene Ingaran, 40, arrested in Banaga, Bugallon; Arman Alop, accused of theft and arrested in Bued, Binalonan with one sachet of marijuana leaves in his pocket;

Joey Vegilla, newly identified pusher, 38, was arrested in Calvo, Mangatarem; Michael Bernardo Dimanlig, alias “Mike”, 38, and Salvador Nacino, alias “Badong”, 40, were arrested at Novo Hotel in Poblacion, Alaminos City;

Rico Angeles, 49, who was arrested in Sitio Tulong, Barangay Pagal, San Carlos City; Adonis Bacoy, 37, arrested in Poblacion East, Umingan;

Elbert Adriatico, alias “Nonoy”, newly identified drug personality, 40, arrested in Zone 7, Mabanogbog, Urdaneta City; Jasmine Borromeo, a newly identified pusher, 40, arrested in Camantiles, Urdaneta City; Deejay Lilagan, newly identified drug personality, 38, arrested in San Aurelio 1st, Balungao; Mark Duatin, alias “Dagul”, 28, arrested in San Juan, Alcala; Roderick Finuliar, 42, arrested in Barangay Babasit, Manaoag; Christopher Aquino, alias “Carling”, newly identified pusher, 41, arrested in San Miguel, Calasiao; Luis Velasco, alias “Oping”, a newly identified pusher, 47, arrested in, San Miguel, Calasiao; Joseph Callanta, 50, a newly emerged drug personality, arrested at A.B. Fernandez Avenue East, PNR Site; Rick Christopherson Galicia, 38, a stay-in cook at Sub Sea Bar in Anolid, Mangaldan, arrested in Bolosan, Dagupan City; Joy Maramba, 26, arrested in Poblacion, Manaoag; and Roberto Tucay, 50, arrested in Babasit, Manaoag;

Arrested in Oplan Sita in Nibaliw Center, San Fabian were Marvin Samia, 39; and Christopher Marquez were first accused of theft of a cellphone and when they were speeding away on board a motorcycle, they met and accident.

Marquez was found with one sachet of shabu at the Manaoag Community Hospital where he was treated. His companion escaped. (Leonardo Micua)
