LINGAYEN —The provincial board has approved Provincial Resolution No. 1797-2018 which authorized Governor Amado Espino III to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Tourism Region 1 for the allocation of financial assistance to Pangasinan’s preparation of its Provincial Tourism Development Plan.

DOT Region 1 intends to allocate a fund of P1 million as a form of assistance in carrying out activities for the said purpose.

Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. said “I believe that as much as possible the DOT secretary wants all local government units (LGUs) to go in the same drumbeat so that the effect in the tourism sector will be well felt,” the vice governor said as he added that all these will go in the same line as the new leadership’s new focuses and new methods of handling tourism projects.

Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Ma. Luisa A. Elduayan added the grassroots will align its programs and projects with the approved NTDP 2016-2022.

Governor Amado Espino III earlier approved Local Tourism Development Plan with corresponding technical working committee that will review the plan and presented during a workshop with the LGUs. (PIO/RRB)
