LINGAYEN– The provincial government of Pangasinan acknowledged the accomplishment of John Pol Orpilla Dimaculangan, a Pangasinense from Sual town, for bagging several awards in the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

Dimaculangan won in Vocal Solo and also received silver and bronze medals in vocal solo and modeling categories. He also won the ‘Best in National Costume’ award for the Team Philippines.

Being the only representative of Northern Luzon, Dimaculangan, represented the Philippines during the WCOPA held on July 6-15 in Long Beach, California in the United States.

The governor cited Dimaculangan during the regular flag-raising ceremony held at the Capitol Plaza on September 10 for bringing honor to the province.

Dimaculangan expressed gratitude to the provincial government for the support he received all throughout his journey and for recognizing Filipino talents from Pangasinan and performed for the employees.

Dimaculangan competed against contestants from 70 countries in the annual WCOPA which is the only ‘talents Olympics’ worldwide.

WCOPA features singers, dancers, models, actors, instrumentalists and variety artists around the globe and offers pools of recognition and perks, such as scholarship grants and recording contracts.

Earlier, the provincial board commended Dimaculangan via approved Provincial Resolution No. 519-2018 entitled “Congratulating John Pol Orpilla Dimaculangan of Sual, Pangasinan for being a multi-medalist winner during the 2018 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA)” authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Napoleon C. Fontelera, Jr. and Antonio F. Sison. (PIO/SIMDG)
