Still 16 towns, 3 cities under validation
FOR VALIDATION AS “DRUG-CLEARED”
THE Police Community Relations Branch of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office reported that there are still 16 towns and 3 cities under validation of the Regional Oversight Committee (ROC).
The localities under the validation by the ROC are the towns of Asingan, Bani, Bolinao, Urbiztondo, Basista and cities of San Carlos, Dagupan and Urdaneta while under validation by the Regional Subcommittee are Infanta, Binmaley, Balungao, Pozorubio, Sual, Manaoag, San Fabian, Umingan.
The towns of Tayug and Mangaldan are only waiting for their schedule to be officially declared as drug cleared.
So far, the 27 towns and 1 city earlier declared “drug –cleared” by the regional oversight committee are Alaminos City, Alcala, Agno, Aguilar, Anda, Bautista, Binalonan, Bugallon, Burgos, Calasiao, Dasol, Labrador, Laoac, Lingayen, Mabini, Malasiqui, Mangatarem, Mapandan, Natividad, San Jacinto, San Manuel, San Nicolas, Sison, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Maria, Rosales, and Villasis.
Sto. Tomas was declared by the Dangerous Drugs Board as the lone drug free municipality in Pangasinan.
Last week, there were 12 drug personalities, three of them were drug surrenderers who were arrested in series of operation this week from August 13 to August 15.
The arrests were made in Bugallon, Balungao, Malasiqui, Mangaldan, Basista, Binmaley, Sison, Pozorrubio and Urdaneta Ciy. Three of the arrested suspects are from Bayambang, two from Bugallon.
The towns of Bugallon, Malasiqui, Sison and Urdaneta were declared “drug-cleared” earlier. (See above list).
A case of violation to Republic Act 9165 or Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed against the suspects. (Nora Dominguez)
