Two minors, 8 others nabbed in buy-bust ops

DRUG OPS DURING 3-DAY FLOOD

LINGAYEN–Despite the widespread flood in Pangasinan, police and PDEA operatives did not take a day off and continued operations against illegal drugs in various towns, resulting in the arrest of 10 newly identified drug pushers, three of whom were former drug surrenderers.

Among those arrested was Kenneth Dulay, 17, a Grade 12 student, a Canadian citizen, and other 6 who fell in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the San Carlos City police, in coordination with the PDEA at 5:00 p.m. on July 24 in Barangay Coliling, San Carlos City.

Dulay, a newly identified drug pusher, was caught selling one heat-sealed shabu to an undercover policeman. Two more sachets of shabu were found in his possession.

He was subsequently brought to the City Health Office before he was turned over to the custody of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) being a minor.

Another suspect, Angelo Cabading, 45, a newly identified drug personality, was riding his motorcycle and almost bumped a police patrol car.

When he refused to show his driver’s license, the policeman conducted a body search on the suspect and found two heat-sealed sachets of shabu in a cigarette pack inside Cabading’s pocket.

Also arrested in other buy bust operations by the police were: Joie Orteguero, 42, a newly emerged/identified pusher in Barangay Babasit, Manaoag; Renie Damalen Sr., 42, who was arrested in Barangay Baquioen, Sual; Agosto Loveranes Jr., 18, who was nabbed in Barangay Cabalaoangan, San Quintin; Joel Calba, alias Jayson Calba, 51, who was arrested by the police in Sitio Socony, Salasa, Bugallon; Mark Vincent Madriaga, alias “Sandoy”, 30, a former surrenderer, of Barangay Imelda, San Jacinto; Giovani Cariño, 43, also of former drug surrenderer, of Barangay Banaoang, Mangaldan;

Other arrested suspects are Johnwen Torres, 33, a former drug surrenderer in Bayambang, arrested in Barangay Nalsian, Malasiqui; and Jordan Floresca, 29, a former drug surrender and in the drug watchlist in Alcala, who was arrested along the Carmen-Alcala road in Barangay Poblacion East, Sto. Tomas;

Resme Tabobo, alias “Moshi”, 17, a Grade 12 student of Lyceum Northwestern University, Urdaneta City campus, was arrested by the police inside comfort room of Marc’s Resto Bar in Rocca building while smoking marijuana.

The manager of the resto bar reported the matter to the police who arrested the suspect and found from him two sachets of marijuana, aside from the cigarette stick. (Leonardo Micua)
