THERE is no let up in the war against illegal drugs in the province.

This was the assurance given by P/ Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, Police Community Relations Branch chief of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO).

He said while there are already 28 towns and one city that have cleared and 19 have yet to be declared by validation of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency regional office, joint operatives of PNP and PDEA continue conducting anti illegal drug operations.

He pointed out that recent operations resulted in the arrests of four newly emerged drug personalities and confiscation of twenty-eight sachets of shabu in Urdaneta City, Dagupan City and Aguilar.

PDEA Provincial Officer Dexter Asayco said, several drug surrenderers were finally caught selling drugs in the streets.

He said, PDEA did not lay low with the operation against illegal drugs while the police were busy looking into declaration of towns as drug-cleared.

“Mahihirapan na sila (pusher) para magbenta mg droga,” Asayco stressed given the continuous buy-bust operations being conducted but admitted that there are no big time pushers arrested by PDEA in recent operations.

Asayco said PDEA and PNP continue to closely monitor the activities of drug personalities who surrendered last year. (Nora Dominguez)
