Abduction of 2 R1MC workers still a mystery – PNP

LINGAYEN—With no new information on the abduction of two workers of Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in March this year, the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) formed by the Pangasinan Police admits facing a blank wall.

P/Chief Inspector Ador Tayag, spokesperson of the task force, however, assured on Wednesday that the SITG has not stopped in its efforts to solve the abduction of Rizaldy Decano and John Mark Payaoan, both Nursing Aides of R1MC.

The SITG is composed of elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDC), the Investigation Division of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO), the Dagupan Police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)

The two, on board a motorcycle, were reportedly stopped by armed men wearing face masks on board a van in A. B. Fernandez Avenue West.

“This is not kidnapping because the armed men never demanded ransom from the families of the two. This was a case of abduction,” said Tayag as he told newsmen of his suspicion the two may no longer be alive because of the length of time that passed since they were abducted.

He said they are conducting background check on the activities of Payaoan who may have made enemies. (Leonardo Micua)
