13 drug pushers nabbed in intensified anti-drug drive

LINGAYEN—The campaign against illegal drugs in Pangasinan is continuing without let-up.

Pangasinan Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed 13 persons in simultaneous anti-drug operations conducted in Mangaldan, Dagupan, Lingayen and Manaoag on July 4.

Three of those arrested in anti-drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Malabago, Mangaldan were identified as new drug personalities, namely, Christopher Cervantes, 21, a mechanic, of Malued, Dagupan City: Ace Dupitas, 31, of Bacayao Norte, Dagupan City; and Joshua Gorospe, 20, of Bolosan, Dagupan City.

The operation was conducted by operatives from PDEA Region 1, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Pangasinan PPO and the Mangaldan Police led by Supt. Jay Baybayan, Officer-in-Charge of the Mangaldan police, at about 11:50 p.m. on July 4.

Seized by lawmen were bags of marijuana dried leaves, fruiting tops, stalks, seeds and 7 plastic sachets containing shabu residue, digital weighing scale, aluminum foils, glass tooters, lighters, improvised metal scoop, scissor, straw scoop, marked P1,000 bill and six pieces of boodle money handed to the pushers used to buy-the illegal drugs.

The three suspects were charged with a case for violation of Article II, Section 5, Section 11 and Section 15 of Republic Act 6125.

Arrested in Dagupan City in another buy-bust operation on Herrero Street at 11 p.m. on July 4 were Jojie Lopez, 46, and Romeo Gitbani, 20,

The two agreed to sell one heat-sealed sachets of shabu worth P500 to a police undercover agent with the help of a confidential asset who contacted the suspects and informed them of the desire of his companion to buy drugs. Two other sachets of shabu were confiscated by lawmen from suspect Lopez.

Also arrested in Dagupan on the same day in another buy-bust operation by regional and city intelligence units was Rosmie Bacani, 47, of Barangay Pantal West. He sold one sachet of shabu to a police agent who paid with the marked money of P500.

Lawmen also arrested five newly identified drug personalities in Lingayen identified as Raymart Cancino. 25, of Tonton; Ryan Nabong, 32, of Libsong; Virgilio Cancino, 35, of Ramos Street: Samuel Perreras, 26; and Clarissa Orosca, 26, both of Barangay Maniboc.

Lawmen seized one sachet of shabu each from Raymart Cancino, and Nabong and two from Molina.

Arrested in a buy-bust operation in Pao, Manaoag were Peter Rey Lazo, 30, of Pao, Manaoag, a former drug surrenderer and a drug watch-listed personality municipal level and Jay Benito, 36, also of Barangay Pao, a newly emerged identified drug personality.
