BHWs, CDWs, tanods get Valentine gifts from Toff

MANGALDAN—The barangay workers in four towns and one city in the Fourth District got their wishes on Valentine Day.

Rep. Christopher de Venecia delivered various equipment they had wished for to help them in their work.

Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and Child Development Workers (CDWs) received 168 units of blood pressure apparatus and nebulizers while the barangay tanods received 315 units of two-radios.

Some 1,056 pieces of chairs and 264 pieces of tables were distributed to the district’s barangays.

De Venecia said he did fund-raising projects and knocked on doors of private companies and friends to provide the needed equipment which BHWs, CDWs and barangay tanods sought when he consulted them last year about their needs.

Since government funds are not available for such purposes, De Venecia said he sought the help of the private sector for support knowing that the barangay workers often find themselves spending their own money to be able to serve their communities.

Mayors Belen Fernandez of Dagupan City, Kim Amador of Manaoag, Constante Agbayani of San Fabian, Roberto de Vera of San Jacinto and Bonafe de Vera-Parayno of Mangaldan thanked the congressman for his support for the barangays.

The distribution of the equipment was from Feb. 12 to Feb. 14.

He said Valentine’s Day is for giving and sharing love so he saw it fit to do the turn-over rites on said dates. (Eva Visperas)
