2nd Unity Games set in February

LINGAYEN – All is set for the launching of the second edition of the Inter-LGU ‘Unity Games on February 2018.

The Provincial Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) gathered the sports coordinators and consultants of the participating towns and cities for a preparatory meeting last January 17 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC).

The Inter-LGU sporting event was launched last year by Gov. Amado Espino III to promote camaraderie among government officials and employees of local government units and to serve as an avenue to promote health and wellness among the players.

PSDMC Executive Officer Modesto Operania expressed elation over the unprecedented support of Pangasinenses to all sports development initiatives of the governor, particularly the LGU Unity Games that further developed discipline, respect and cooperation among employees.

Participating towns and cities are categorized into two clusters according to their income classifications: Cluster A (cities, 1st and 2nd class municipalities); Cluster B (3rd, 4th and 5th classification).

Urdaneta City topped last year’s basketball Division I while Urbiztondo town bagged the championship in Division II. On the other hand, Alaminos City secured the title in volleyball Division I while Burgos town emerged victorious in Division II. (MGNO, PIO)
