Alaminos, Pozorrubio, Urbiztondo early leaders

LINGAYEN —Teams Alaminos City, Bugallon and Urbiztondo remained unbeaten in the elimination rounds of the 1st Pangasinan Inter-LGU Unity Games Basketball Tournament.

Alaminos scored its sixth win after Binmaley lost by default on May 26 at the Manaoag gymnasium, making the leader in Division 1 of the Western Conference.

Next in rank of the same division is Team Bugallon with 5-0 (win-loss) standing.
In Division 1 of the Eastern Conference, Pozorrubio team shares 4-1 standing with Bayambang and Urdaneta City teams after the latter two won against San Fabian and Mangaldan teams, respectively, last May 25.

Urbiztondo is the unbeaten team in Division II with 6-0 (win-loss).

The basketball tournament among LGUs started last March 16 by Gov. Amado Espino III  Espino who expressed optimism that the sports event will not only promote healthy lifestyle among the officials and employees but will also foster camaraderie and warm rapport among them.

Team standings as of May 26 are:

Division 1 (Western Conference): Alaminos City (6-0),  Bugallon (5-0),  San Carlos City (3-1), Sta. Barbara (3-2), Calasiao (3-3), Binmaley (1-4), Mangatarem (0-5),  Sual (0-6).  (Eastern Conference):  Pozorrubio (4-1), Bayambang (4-1), Urdaneta City (4-1), Mangaldan (3-2), Umingan (3-2), San Nicolas (2-3), Malasiqui (0-5), San Fabian (0-5).

Division II: Urbiztondo (6-0), Aguilar (6-1), Sta. Maria (5-1), Basista (3-3), Sison (3-3), Labrador (1-4), Mapandan (1-5;). Laoac (1-5), Bautista (0-5). (PIO/RRB)
