Cojuangco cites roles of bankers

THE Bankers Club of Eastern Pangasinan (BCEP) held their induction of 2015 officers and Christmas Party on Dec. 16, 2014 at the Balikbayan Hall, Urdaneta Cultural Center and Sports Complex, with former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco as inducting officer.

Shown here are BM Joy Dela Cruz (Philippine Savings Bank) – Incoming President of BCEP, BM Loreto V. Munoz, Jr. (Planters Development Bank) – Outgoing President of BCEP and BM Catlyian Jimenez (Banco Sual Inc. – Villasis).

In his message, Cojuangco lauded bankers for their distinct role in society by making economic development possible.

He remembered his high school teacher in Commerce, Australia who taught him that capital is the produced means of production.

Cojuangco emphasized that capital is not only money. “But more than the money is the desire, the will to innovate, to undertake an enterprise to produce,” he said.

He said government can come in for help and bankers can provide access for this capital for a fee.

In order for people to invest, environment must be good, Cojuangco said.

He said Pangasinan has great potentials for investments.

Bankers can play huge role in Pangasinan’s future success, he added.
