Rimat ti Amianan takes center stage Oct. 20-27

RIMAT Ti Amianan (Treasures of the North), a showcase of Region 1’s  “best of the best” products and tourism sites, is ready to be staged on Oct. 20 to 27 at the CSI Stadia this city.

This regional trade fair to be held for the first time in Dagupan City will provide market linkages and strategies between producers through the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the prospective buyers here and abroad for products made of Region 1’s artistry, creativity and ingenuity through their crafts and products.

said there will be more than 70 product exhibitors from the four provinces of Region 1 that include Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte and La Union. Also expected to participate are exhibitors from Abra, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Bataan, Baguio City, Cabanatuan City, Tarlac and Puerto Princesa.

Dagupan’s hosting was made possible through the intercession of Mayor Belen Fernandez, whose family owns malls in Pangasinan and nearby provinces and have been helping SMEs.

Around 100,000 visitors are expected to visit in the Rimat Ti Amianan, a joint venture among the DTI, city government and Department of Tourism (DOT).

MARKET MATCHING

Aside from product exhibits and sale, there will be provincial tourism pavilions, tourism summit, and cultural show presentations through the DOT.

There will also be a Seafood Festival where Region 1’s top cuisine will be the focal point by showing how these are prepared in 101 ways in a cooking demo by a professional chef.

Products like gifts, decorations, house wares, fashion accessories, garments, bags, shoes, processed foods, plants (landscaping), furniture and furnishings, food, among others.

“It’s like traveling the whole of Region 1 and knowing their best products in just one location. It’s a one-stop shop,” Mangabat said.

He said this regional trade fair will also open windows for employment, investments, export generation, income among other multiplier effects.

Buyers all over the Philippines including the Foreign Buyers Association of the Philippines have been invited. (Tita Roces)
