Lingayen — Board Member Amado I. Espino, III, Liga ng mga Barangay provincial president, rallied students of the Pangasinan State University (PSU) to “lead in the moral and spiritual regeneration in their respective communities.”

“You lead by example,” Espino III urged the students during the Acquaintance Ball and Induction Ceremony of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) of PSU Lingayen Campus held at the Sison Auditorium on August 14.

“You have personal, spiritual and moral obligations that drive you to lead by example as you chase your dreams and aspirations in life,” BM Espino, a three-term Mayor of Bautista town, stressed.

The young Espino who represented his father, Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., extended the Governor’s respect and gratitude to the administrators and teachers of PSU for providing their students quality education.

Espino III reminded the students to always bear in mind the sacrifices of their parents and those who support their schooling. He also asked them “to look back and give back to their beloved institution” the worthy accomplishments they have in their chosen careers.

To help bright students from families with meager income, the provincial government has given scholarship grants to some 2,291 PSU students since Governor Espino assumed his office in 2007.

Meanwhile, Campus Executive Director Nelia Resultay said  “I hope you (students) will be inspired by the good leadership examples of the Governor, and may you follow his footsteps in running the affairs of the student council,” Dr. Resultay said.

SSC President Ann Lee Aguila, on the other hand, thanked the provincial government for allowing the students to use the Sison Auditorium as venue of the activity for free.
