KBP Pangasinan bleeds for Red Cross

THE Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) -Pangasinan Chapter, in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Dagupan City Chapter, organized a blood donation drive dubbed “Brodkaster ka na, Life Saver ka pa” on Thursday at the Dawel River Cruise in Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan.

Jay Mendoza, president of KBP-Pangasinan Chapter said the activity intended to show that a broadcaster is not only a reporter and service provider on air but can also serve by donating blood.

“It has been the KBP’s advocacy to support the mission of the PRC to provide sufficient and quality supply of blood to extend lives of people,” said Mendoza.

The PRC collected at least 41 bags of blood, more than the target of the event.

Meanwhile, Catherine Mangada, a second lieutenant in  the Philippine Army, said the activity also gave her a different opportunity to serve aside from her job of protecting them.

The activity was participated in by volunteers from various media outlets in Pangasinan; the Philippine Army based at Camp Tito Abat in Manaoag; Philippine National Police (PNP) -Pangasinan; Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP); PhilHealth Region 1; University of Pangasinan; Collegio de Dagupan; Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources; and Department of Trade in Industry (DTI).  (PIA1-Pangasinan/EBS)
