Brillante Mendoza films featured in SM City Rosales
A FILM festival featuring the films of internationally-acclaimed Filipino director Brillante Mendoza was hosted by SM City Rosales last February 27 and 28.
Among the multi-awarded films shown were Foster Child, Lola and Thy Womb.
Mendoza’s films, characterized as ‘ultra-neo-realist’ by international film critics, put the spotlight on social issues that are usually ignored in popular media.
SM City Rosales said the filmfest was aimed at promoting awareness, appreciation and understanding of ‘independent films’, also popularly known as indie-films, as well as the works of Mendoza.
