SK, scholars to convene for ‘Doypuay Kalangweran’

LINGAYEN–Some 600 Sangguniang Kabataan officers and members together with provincial government scholars from the nine campus components of the Pangasinan State University are expected to join in the province-wide youth camp dubbed Doypuay Kalangweran on April 30 to May 1 at the Lingayen beachfront in line with the Pista’y Dayat celebration.

This youth development program is aimed at increasing environmental consciousness and appreciation of the province’s history and cultural heritage for social awareness.

Lectures on environmental conservation and protection are included in the youth camp as a means of re-awakening the environmental awareness among the participants and also to rekindle the significant roles they play as members of the society.

To encourage comradeship and socialization among the campers, various team building games will be played at the beach, along with a bonfire and fellowship activity with Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., on the eve of April 30.

As an opening salvo on the second day, the campers will attend a Thanksgiving Mass at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center, after which they will get a chance to see colorful and artistically designed bancas as they join the fluvial parade dubbed as Banca Parada which will commence at Sitio Bantayan, Pangapisan North, Lingayen to Banaga Bridge in Bugallon.

With this activity, the provincial government urges the scholars and the SK members to give their best shots as the governor vows to prioritize various youth development programs for the benefit of young Pangasinenses who will soon become future leaders of the province.

Registration of the participants will be from 8-10 am on April 30 and the briefing on house rules and schedule of activities and distribution of materials for outdoor activities will follow afterwards. The food and accommodation of the participants will be taken care of by the provincial government.
