Medical Center donates P40M equipment, medicines
LINGAYEN-The first trance of P40 million worth of medical equipment, supplies and medicines donated to Pangasinan by the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Manila arrived on Thursday.
The donated equipment and supplies were turned over to Governor Amado Espino Jr. by businessman Rosendo So, president of the Eastern Pangasinan Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, also founder of partylist Abono.
So said he solicited the donation in response Gov. Espino’s challenge to the private sectors to collaborate in seeking help for the province.
He said he together with Espino and Rep. Robert Raymond Estrella met with officials of CSMC and presented to them photos showing the devastation in the Pangasinan in the aftermath of Typhoon Cosme.
The donation, consisted of brand new syringe and other laboratory equipment, bed sheets, medicines, imported from the United States.
The second trance of the donation is set to arrive next week and the third trance the following week.
Espino said this is the biggest donation in kind yet coming from a private donor.
He said all these will be distributed to the 14 public hospitals operated by the provincial government across Pangasinan, the biggest bulk of which will go to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City which serves the biggest number of patients among all these hospitals.
Thanking CSMC for its donation, Espino said the donation will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the Pangasinenses. – LM
