PLDT serves 1,200 patients
TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT), in coordination with the Dagupan City government, served 1,224 patients during its free medical, dental and surgical mission on May 4 at the Dagupan People’s Astrodome, as part of the culminating activities of the Bangus Festival.
PLDT Pangasinan-Tarlac head Gerry Marquez thanked the local government and its medical arm, the City Health Office, for their support and cooperation.
“It is our gesture for our unending service to the city, and will remain unparalleled,” Marquez said.
Marquez also thanked Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, chairman of the Bangus Festival committee, for giving PLDT the opportunity to be part of the city’s major festival.
Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr., for his part, acknowledged the assistance extended by PLDT, noting that its medical assistance not only augurs well for their corporate social mission, but deepens the friendship and partnership with the communities they have long been serving.
Some 894 patients were provided with various expert medical consultations and given free medicines, 127 underwent dental procedures while 149 boys returned home circumcised. —CIO
