TWO officials of Dagupan are now in the United States to promote the Bangus Festival among US-based Dagupeños.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez and Councilor Alfie Fernandez, chair and vice chairperson, respectively, of the Bangus Festival, will meet various groups of overseas Dagupenos, starting in the Bay Area.

They will take the occasion to present and discuss the development projects in the city under the administration of Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. when they outline this year’s Bangus Festival activities.

An innovation introduced in this year’s festival is the expansion of its coverage, from district-wide to regional.

Vice Mayor Fernandez unveiled the regional plan before she left and vowed to make this year’s Bangus Festival different with the expected participation of groups from all over the Ilocos region.

A promised spectacle to watch will be the street dancing competition that will be heralded as Northern Luzon Festival of Champions. The winner will receive P150,000 and a separate cash award will be given the top choreographer.

The two are expected to return to the city next week.—LM
