Muhtar Kent, president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer-elect of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), is on a visit to the Philippines for a series of meetings to receive updates about the company’s business operations in the country.

Calasiao Coca Cola Plant Manager August Cuison said Kent is also in town to reinforce the company’s commitment to the Philippines a year after it bought the Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (CCCBPI) from San Miguel Corporation.

“We will continue to invest in our business and in the local communities. We fully realize that that in order for our business to succeed the local communities need to succeed,” Kent said.

with a local market partner while on a visit to the Philippines.

He added, “We are excited and very happy about the early positive results that we have generated so far in this market. We acknowledge this as a reward to our continuing belief in the Philippines and in our business.”

Coke recently launched a new product, Coke Zero, and Kent said major marketing initiatives have been laid out for the year to further boost the company’s position in the bottled drinks market.

Kent expressed optimism about Coke’s continued growth in the country, considered as one of the firm’s most important markets.

“Today, I am glad to say that we are seeing early positive results from our increased investment and tight focus on our flagship brand. At the same time, we recognize that we still have a lot of hard work ahead of us,” Kent said. #
