PPC warns public vs. bogus “media”
THE Pangasinan Press Club (PPC) has warned business establishments and public officials against individuals claiming to be media practitioners and soliciting money purportedly for the club.
PPC president Gonzalo Duque said the PPC board did not authorize any individual, including any of its members, to solicit money for the group at any time.
“We do not have a fund raising campaign at the moment. All of our activities for this year were already finished,” Duque said.
The warning was issued after a bank manager called the PPC’s attention about two individuals soliciting money supposedly for the press club.
Duque, who is also president of the Lyceum Northwestern University, advised the public to immediately report to the police anyone who will introduce himself or herself as a PPC member and asking for cash donation for the club’s “fund-raising”.
