San Carlos to honor Jolly as ‘07 beauties get spotlight
SAN CARLOS CITY–The aborted fiesta coronation night last year marred by violence, will finally take place.
They will take center-stage again in this year’s fiesta celebration.
Mayor Julier Resuello, son of slain Mayor Julian Resuello who was gunned down in April last year during the town’s fiesta which was also the height of the campaign period for the May elections, said the city government has decided to crown last year’s Ms. San Carlos pageant winners during this year’s fiesta celebration.
To be finally crowned as Miss San Carlos City is Mylyn Ynzon, while Mary Abigail Belmonte, Teddylyn Armas, Bernadette de Guzman, and Cristy Espinoza are first, second, third and fourth runners up, respectively.
The city will also inaugurate a bust of the late mayor at the plaza.
“This will be a fitting tribute to Papa and I hope he will be happy with what we are doing now,” Resuello said.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod presided over by Vice Mayor Joseres Resuello, his brother, has approved a resolution authorizing the erection of the late mayor’s bust.
Next year, a popularity contest for Mrs. San Carlos International will be held as San Carlenans overseas have signified their interest to join the fund-raising to help their hometown.
Meanwhile, the Resuello brothers reiterated their appeal to the police to hasten the resolution of their father’s killing by arresting the mastermind who remains at large despite a P1 million offered for his capture.#
