A pre-Valentine Medical Mission was held at barangay Pugaro in Dagupan on February 13, benefiting some 1,000 residents.

The medical mission was conducted by doctors and nurses of the Region 1 Medical Center and the Dagupan Centrum Hospital organized by Councilor Jesus Canto, chairman on health of the city council.

Canto said the mission included a dentist, an eye specialist and those specializing on sickness of women and children.

He said this was part of the program of Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. and Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez to improve the health of the people of Dagupan City.

The medical mission is a continuation started by the Filipino-American Medical Mission of Georgia, USA headed by Dr. Grace Duque-Dizon.

It was also an opportunity to conduct an information drive against dengue through the “Itaub Mo” program of the city government.

Barangay Chairman Ricardo de la Cruz Jr. of Pugaro thanked the medical mission for coming to treat the sick people of Pugaro who can not afford to go to the city proper to get medical attention.—LM
