LINGAYEN -The war against cheating liquefied petroleum gas dealers and suppliers is on.

The Police Provincial Office has joined the newly formed Task Force LPG tasked to protect consumers by monitoring and arresting the cheats.

The Task Force was formed by Gov. Victor Agbayani in the face of the numerous complaints about unfair practices resorted to by LPG suppliers in the province.

The memorandum of agreement on the campaign was signed by the Department of Energy, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Trade and Industry, the provincial government and the PNP provincial office.

Supt. Ricardo Tamayo, police deputy provincial director for operations, said the signing was done during the just concluded consumer month.

He said Task Force LPG will focus on the wholesalers and retailers, including refillers, in order to ensure the exact measurements of LPGs.

Tamayo asked the public to report to the task force any illegal acts being committed by traders of LPGs – APE
