Velasco family receives “Ulirang Pamilya” award

The Velasco family, headed by matriarch Mrs. Aurora Martinez-Velasco, widow of the late Pio Infante Velasco Sr., received a plaque of recognition on Friday as Ulirang Pamilya from the Department of Education, Division of City Schools.

The search for Ulirang Pamilya was held during the Family Week Celebration on the last week of September to acknowledge outstanding families in the community.

The plaque, given at the Malued Elementary School during its Elementary Day Celebrations rites, was presented by Dr. Melita Gatchalian, District I Supervisor and Miss Rosita Carvajal, Principal II of Malued Elem. School.

The Velasco parents have previously received other awards, including: Most Outstanding Father (Pio Velasco Sr.) in 1985 from the provincial government, Outstanding School Parent (Aurora Velasco) from DepEd Region I in 1996, and Huwarang Magulang on Nov. 20, 2003 from the Rotary Club of Downtown Dagupan.
