YMCA-Dagupan City collects more medals in Nueva Ecija

FRESH from its recent victory at the Philippine National Olympic Festival, the YMCA-Dagupan City team again scored one gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the 1st Mayor Romeo Borja Karate Cup held November 24 at the Pantabangan Sports Complex, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.

National Olympic Festival Champion John Enrico Vasquez (Mother Goose), leading a four-man team, won the gold in the 8years old below kata and silver in the kumite.

David Reay (La Sallette) won the silver in the 11 to 12 boys kata, and bronze in kumite while King Justine Mosada (Dagupan City National High School) won the silver in the 12 to 13 boys’ kumite and the bronze in the kata.

The fourth member of the team, Jaime Macatbag of University of Luzon, lost in a close 4-3 decision versus George Basa of Palayan City in the quarter finals. #
