Vaccination of 278,000 kids sought
LINGAYEN—They will knock on your door, ring your bell and tap on your window too!
But that would not be your door-to-door salesmen, rather, it would be the provincial health workers aiming to vaccinate all children from nine months to four years old against measles.
This undertaking is part of the “Knock out Tigdas” program launched by the provincial health office last October 19 to “save the kids against the dangers of measles”, said Dr. Anna Teresa de Guzman, acting provincial health officer.
The program was launched in Rosales and Pozorrubio towns, but the coverage will be province-wide with a targeting 278,000 children.
“This is mission possible,” De Guzman said.
The program will be carried out by more than 1,000 midwives, 5,800 barangay health workers, 110 government nurses, and 60 rural health physicians through teams formed by the municipal health officers. #
