The Commission on Election (Comelec) has moved the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election to Sept. 29 up to Oct. 18.

Comelec provincial chief Reddy Balarbar told The PUNCH that the resetting of the date is intended to fix the late announcement of the supposed Sept. 14 start for COC filing.

He added that Pangasinan’s registered youth voters, aged between 15-17, are all set for the SK elections on Oct. 29.

The total number of registered voters reached 118,503, with San Carlos City having the biggest at 7,878, followed by Malasiqui with 6, 177 and Bayambang with 5,697.

Dagupan City and Binmaley are fourth and fifth in the list with 5,324 and 4,836, respectively.

The last SK polls were held in 2002. #
