St. John bags double title
MILO SBP-PASSARELLE TOURNAMENT
St. John Cathedral School coasted to an easy victory bagging the title for both divisions in the recently-concluded Milo SBP-Passerelle Tournament.
The championship game, held last Sunday at the Urdaneta Cultural and Sports Center, was dominated by players of St. John in both the SBP and Passarelle levels.
Coming in second were Mother Goose Urdaneta for the SBP and Urdaneta City National High School for Passerelle.
Immediately after the games, the awarding ceremonies were held where plaques of recognition distributed to all the participants before the trophies were presented to the winning teams.
Japhet Sem Manalese and Ron Carlo Teja, both from St. John, were named Most Valuable Player for the SBP and Passerelle, respectively.
The tourney’s most coveted award, the Sportsmanship Award, for the team that has demonstrated the true meaning of sportsmanship by their character in playing, camaraderie, fighting spirit and parents’ all-out support in every game, was given to La Marea Academy for SBP and Mother Goose High School Dagupan for Passerelle.
The St. John Cathedral Elementary and High School teams will represent Pangasinan in the regional finals in November to be held in Baguio City, in preparation for the National Finals in December. #
