SAN CARLOS CITY-Watch out for this new city administration.

Mayor Julier Resuello has set his sights on unproductive and delinquent employees and is poised to crack the whip on them.

City Administrator Mienrado Ynzon began implementing the mayor’s policy by organizing an 11-man monitoring team to conduct unannounced visits to offices to check on the attendance and productivity of employees at any given time.

The recent measure was adopted to discourage tardiness, the tendency among employees to work “under-time” or leaving before the 5:00 p.m. end of office hours, and gallivanting by employees during office hours.

He said government employees who get paid through the citizen’s taxes should not shortchange the taxpayers.

At the same time, Ynzon warned that, henceforth, the city government will not be crowded with unqualified and lethargic employees who were obviously hired for political accommodation.

“Mediocrity in the quality of service rendered is discouraged, as true professionals and public servants set an exemplary high quality standard of service,” he said.

Ynzon also directed employees who go out to do field work or to places outside their office for official reasons have to begin reporting their whereabouts in a logbook.

Meanwhile, information officer Rachel Sapigao said the city government lauds government employees who work beyond office hours to finish their assigned task without expecting overtime pay.
