DESPITE several fire incidents, the yuletide celebration in the province was peaceful and orderly, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection Pangasinan.

F/Senior Superintendent  Marvin Carbonel, provincial fire marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Pangasinan, stated that only two fires were recorded during the New Year celebration.

These fires occurred in the towns of Urbiztondo and Bayambang. However, these fires were not serious as firefighters responded quickly and put the fire out.

Carbonel also said that throughout December 2025, the BFP Pangasinan recorded five fire incidents related to fireworks that occurred in the towns of Calasiao, Pozorrubio, San Quintin, while two cases were recorded in Dagupan City.

This includes an explosion located in Bacayao Norte, Dagupan City, that resulted in two deaths and 11 injuries.

In addition, the BFP said there were no reported casualties related to fire during the New Year celebration in Pangasinan.

The BFP once again reminded the public to be vigilant in their homes and follow safety tips to prevent fires and other disasters. (Kim Gealogo)
