THE Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) has warned the public against individuals or groups allegedly engaged in unauthorized recruitment and solicitation for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program.

In an advisory, DOLE RO1 said personal recruitment for TUPAD beneficiaries is strictly prohibited and not allowed under existing program guidelines.

The agency clarified that TUPAD implementation is conducted only through DOLE offices, local government units (LGUs), and Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs). No individual is authorized to collect fees, request favors, or personally approach applicants in exchange for inclusion in the program.

DOLE said those found involved in illegal recruitment or fraudulent activities related to TUPAD may face legal consequences.

The agency urged the public to avoid transacting with private individuals and to coordinate only with official DOLE or PESO offices in their respective areas if they wish to participate in the program. (Ahikam Pasion)
