City’s new vehicles roll out in motorcade

THE Dagupan City government showcased its newly acquired vehicles, particularly Disaster Response and Rescue units, in a motorcade held on the morning of December 26 along De Venecia Highway toward the downtown area. The activity aimed to highlight the city’s strengthened emergency capability while reminding the public to prioritize safety, stressing that every life matters. City officials renewed their appeal for residents to avoid firecrackers and instead use horns or “torotot” during the New Year celebration to prevent accidents.

The motorcade also underscored the deadly firecracker factory explosion on the night of December 25 in Sitio Boquig, Barangay Bacayao Norte, which left six victims, including two fatalities. Mayor Belen said the event marked the second motorcade reinforcing the city’s call to shun firecrackers, noting that the new vehicles will significantly improve response time, coordination, and public safety across Dagupan City.
