PPPO destroys 11,000 illegal fireworks ahead of New Year
THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has destroyed over 11,000 illegal fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices as part of its campaign against illegal fireworks last December 27, 2025, at PPPO Grandstand, Camp Gov. Antonio U. Sison in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
According to P/Lt. Colon4l Marcellano Desamito Jr. of the PPPO’s Departmental Positioning and Development Authority, the police are hopeful that the celebration of the new year 2026 will be peaceful and safe.
Desamito urged the public to avoid the use of illegal fireworks to prevent accidents and ensure the citizens’ safety.
“Achieving peace is not solely the police’s duty but also requires parents to supervise and advise their children, particularly regarding the use of fireworks, Desamito added.
He also underscored that under the national order of the Philippine National Police, indiscriminate firing is strictly prohibited, with appropriate punishment for anyone who violates it.
The Pangasinan Provincial Police Office will continue to work with local governments to maintain peace and order in the province. (Kim Gealogo)
