Missing bride-to-be found in Sison
A woman reported missing days before her scheduled wedding, which has made national headlines for weeks, has been found in the town of Sison, Pangasinan, authorities confirmed.
According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) spokesperson Police Major Jennifer Ganaban, police learned that Sherra de Juan was in Sison town after receiving a phone call from her fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, who provided information on her whereabouts.
Reyes said that someone tipped them off to de Juan’s whereabouts.
QCPD personnel immediately proceeded to Sison, where they located De Juan. Police said the woman was already planning to return to Quezon City as of the previous day.
De Juan was retrieved by QCPD officers, accompanied by her sibling and Reyes.
The couple was supposed to be married on December 14, but De Juan had been unreachable since December 10, prompting concern from her family and fiancé and leading to a missing person report.
This led to numerous posts and news items, which made social media abuzz with theories, from typical to outrageous ones.
Authorities said they are continuing to determine the reason behind her sudden departure and are investigating whether any foul play was involved.
The family who adopted De Juan during her stay in Sison requests privacy, as they said they would let the police and concerned individuals speak for themselves. (Ahikam Pasion)
