3 hurt in Mangatarem road crash

THREE persons were injured in a road accident involving a tricycle and a motorcycle along a highway in Mangatarem town. Police said both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the motorcycle attempted to overtake on the right side, hitting the tricycle’s sidecar wheel and causing both to lose balance.

The impact threw the riders onto the road, resulting in injuries to various parts of their bodies. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, with the motorcycle rider remaining under observation. Police added that both drivers reportedly had consumed alcohol prior to the incident. Investigation is ongoing to determine other circumstances surrounding the crash.

 

Nearly P500k shabu seized from two in Dagupan buy-bust

POLICE arrested two men and seized nearly half a million pesos worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City, at around 2:16 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The operation was conducted by operatives of the Dagupan City Police Office.

Recovered from the suspects were four sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 70 grams with an estimated street value of P476,000, along with assorted drug paraphernalia and evidence, including a mobile phone, weighing scale, body bag, improvised pouch, a motorcycle, and marked and boodle money. The suspects, both residents of Tayug, Pangasinan, are detained and face charges under Republic Act 9165.

 

Brother stabs sibling to death on Christmas

A family Christmas turned deadly when a 45-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 43-year-old brother during a heated confrontation in Barangay Warding, Bayambang, on December 25. Authorities said the suspect, reportedly drunk, first threw a concrete block at the victim’s house, prompting relatives to intervene.

The victim was rushed to Sto. Niño Hospital, but was pronounced dead. The suspect was immediately arrested and temporarily confined at Bayambang District Hospital for treatment of his own injuries. The 11-inch knife used in the attack, bearing traces of blood, was surrendered by the father and is now in police custody for proper disposition.

 

Man dies in Urbiztondo road mishap

A 22-year-old man from San Carlos City died after his motorcycle collided with a tricycle along the eastbound lane in Urbiztondo, police reported. The victim reportedly lost control of his bike, hitting the tricycle driven by a 30-year-old local fish vendor.

The impact caused fatal head injuries to the motorcyclist, who was rushed to Jesus Healing Hands Hospital but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment. The tricycle driver was unharmed. Both vehicles were damaged, and police are assessing the scene. Authorities noted the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

 

Drunk man sets self on fire after breaking into Mangaldan home

A drunken man forced his way into a Mangaldan family’s home in Barangay Pogo before setting himself on fire early Monday, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. after the homeowners were awakened by loud banging at their door, finding the man inside their kitchen. With children still inside, the family tried to get him to leave, but he refused.

Police said the suspect doused himself and parts of the house with gasoline, prompting a two-hour negotiation with responding officers and fire personnel. The standoff ended when he ignited himself. The man survived and was rushed to a hospital. Authorities said he had been drinking heavily and may have been emotionally distressed.
