Sual is richest among 44 towns in Pangasinan

SUAL ranks No. 1 in terms of assets among 44 towns of Pangasinan,  according to the ranking made by the Commission on Audit (COA) in 2024.

Sual, where the coal-fired power plant—which is generating 2,000 megawatts of power for the Luzon Grid, was credited with a total town asset of P3,079,827,847.76 as of 2024, according to COA.

A seaside town of the Lingayen Gulf, Sual boasts of a power plant run by coal imported from Indonesia to produce 2,000 megawatts for the Luzon Grid.

It’s marine water is being used extensively for mariculture that produces milkfish being shipped to Metro Manila daily.

Sual’s neighbors Labrador is 38th in ranking, envies Sual and wants to emulate its fortune by opening the town as a location of a possible nuclear power plant.

Though the richest town in Pangasinan in point of assets, Sual is yet too far to become the next city of Pangasinan as it could not yet satisfy the requirement of population.

Bayambang is second in point of assets, totaling P2,125,058.964.10 and is the top candidate to become the next city in Pangasinan. Bolinao is in third rank with an asset of P1,939, 111,756.97; with  Binalonan trailing at P1,692,938,060.76; Rosales at P1,678,915,206.35.

The town of Sta. Barbara ranks 6th with P1,379,052,563.98; Villasis, P1,248,745,545,78; Pozorrubio, P1,241,864,68710; Mangatarem, P1225,088,750.45; and Mangaldan, P1,183,731,318.20.

The remaining towns based on their rankings are: Binmaley, Sison, San Fabian, Malasiqui,  Lingayen, Calasiao, Balungao, Bani, Urbiztondo, Alcala, Asingan, Manaoag, Anda, San Jacinto, San Manuel, Aguilar, Laoac, Dasol, Sta, Maria, Bugallon, Infanta, Umingan, Mapandan, Mabini, Natividad, Tayug, Agno, Labrador, San Nicolas, Burgos, San Quintin, Sto.
