Manaoag readies for Yuletide rush
THE local government of Manaoag is stepping up preparations for the holiday season as it rolls out a lineup of activities to mark Christmas and manage the expected influx of visitors.
Mayor Jeremy Rosario said the town will host Christmas caroling and community activities meant to spread cheer among residents and welcome visitors.
The celebrations will highlight Manaoag’s long-standing Christmas traditions, which draw devotees from across the country to the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag to offer prayers and pay homage to the venerated image. Local officials expect hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to flock to the basilica during the holidays.
A major attraction this season is the Carnival Christmas, a holiday-themed fair featuring rides, games, and family-oriented activities designed to showcase the festive spirit of the town.
Mayor Rosario stressed that the local government is prioritizing order, safety, and smooth traffic flow to ensure an enjoyable and meaningful celebration for both residents and pilgrims during the Yuletide season. (Ahikam Pasion)
