Nutritious breakfast served to Tambac Riles kids
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez ensured that children in Barangay Tambac Riles received timely and nutritious meals through the city’s “Apple of My Eye” and “Goodbye Gutom” programs. On the morning of December 16, the city government distributed apples and the children’s all-time favorite—fried chicken with rice—to support proper nourishment among young beneficiaries.
The activity was carried out in coordination with the City Nutrition Office, which continues to roll out the programs across the city’s 31 barangays to promote balanced and healthy eating. Launched in 2023, the initiatives form part of the local government’s response to Zero Hunger, one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and are being sustained in all barangays under the directive of Mayor Fernandez.

‘No Permit’ Multi-Purpose Building in Bacayao Norte flagged by LGU
The Dagupan City government has flagged the construction of a multi-purpose building in Barangay Bacayao Norte for lack of a building permit, following an inspection led by Mayor Belen T. Fernandez. The structure, located near a city-built covered court, was visited to underscore the mayor’s directive for all builders to secure permits in accordance with city regulations.
City Engineer Josephine Corpuz said the project failed to comply with the required setback, prompting her office to outline corrective measures to ensure public safety and utility. Mayor Fernandez also sought the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Vice Mayor Dean Bryan and the New Majority Councilors, for an update of the zoning ordinance. The inspection was conducted upon the request of Barangay Captain Diosdado Maramba, while further talks with the DPWH are set to resolve the issue and improve coordination.
