Rosales drinking spree turns deadly

A drinking session in Rosales ended in tragedy when a 32-year-old collector was stabbed to death after a heated argument with a 24-year-old farmer, both town residents. Police said the suspect briefly left the gathering on a motorcycle but returned with a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim, who collapsed on the street.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The suspect fled and remains at large as police prepare a murder charge against him. Authorities withheld the identities of both men while the manhunt continues.

Jogger dies after being hit by a van in Sta. Barbara

A 30-year-old woman from Barangay Bued, Calasiao was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after she was struck by a van while jogging along the road in Barangay Tuliao, Sta. Barbara, early Monday, December 8. Police said the victim was crossing the road when she may have failed to notice the speeding van, which left her with severe injuries.

Authorities reported that the van’s driver has since reached an agreement with the victim’s family. At the family’s request, the woman’s identity has been withheld as the case has been settled.

Urdaneta raid yields drug suspect

A man identified as Ronaldo Cabatlig Esteves, alias “Baboy,” was arrested after police served a search warrant at his home in Urdaneta City on December 9. The 35-year-old suspect, who is reportedly unemployed but monitored for alleged drug activity, was taken into custody by the Urdaneta City Police Station.

Investigators recovered three sachets of suspected shabu weighing a total of seven grams and valued at ₱47,600, along with two improvised glass tooters, a digital scale, and a red coin pouch. Esteves was brought to the police station for processing, and charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared.

Farmer hurt in Basista stabbing

A 73-year-old farmer was injured after he was stabbed by a 41-year-old man during an altercation in Basista. Police said the incident began after the victim and his live-in partner finished a drinking session at their home, while the suspect, at his nearby residence, was heard shouting insults at the couple.

The victim reportedly confronted the suspect, triggering a heated exchange that quickly turned violent. The farmer sustained stab wounds and was rushed to a hospital, while the suspect was also examined for injuries. Police are still determining the motive behind the attack.

Rider dies after hitting parked trailer in Manaoag

A 23-year-old motorcycle rider from Pozorrubio died while his backrider was injured after their motorbike slammed into a parked trailer truck along Provincial Road in Barangay Babasit, Manaoag. Police said the crash occurred around 6:40 a.m., and the rider, Marvin Bugaoan, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. His companion, a construction worker from Manaoag, remains under treatment.

Investigators said the trailer truck had stalled due to engine trouble and was parked on the roadside with warning devices in place. Authorities believe the motorcycle driver may have failed to notice the stationary vehicle, leading to the fatal collision. The backrider is still confined to a local hospital.

Woman hacked in Bugallon dispute

A 31-year-old housewife was injured after she was hacked by a female neighbor during a drunken confrontation in Barangay Laguit Centro, Bugallon. Police said both women had been drinking when the suspect, 29, stepped out of her house with a bolo and challenged the victim to a fistfight.

When the victim came out to respond, the suspect allegedly hacked her twice—on the forehead and right hand—before fleeing with the weapon. Relatives rushed the victim to the hospital. Investigators said a long-standing personal feud may have triggered the attack, as authorities mount a manhunt for the suspect.
